Proton Proton reveals Iriz EV model in 2015 International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) held at KLCC on 9 to 12 September.
As part lauran this car, it's similar to a regular Iriz model. However, in it is actually much different. The car is powered by an electric motor which is powered 116kW (155HP) and 360Nm of torque. It is powered by a lithium-ion polymer battery developed by LG's powerful 39.6 kWh. This gives the car the ability to make a 0-100km / h in under 9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 150km / h.
In addition, the car can be recharged using the charge rate 50kW and 6.6kW for normal charging system. According to the manufacturer, Proton has Iriz EV drive better than the Nissan Leaf (240km) where this car is capable of traveling 300km with each full charge. It is considered particularly impressive because it weighs 1,380kg overall (195kg heavier than Iriz 1.6 Premium CVT).
Used batteries are placed under the floor of the car and it takes up space. Thus, the interior of this car is still great as usual model. This car also maintain the spare tire on the back of the car boot.
The gear that comes with this car smaller than the regular model and resemble the Toyota Prius hybrid model. Digital instrument cluster is used where it shows speed, charge status, power used, the regenerative brake system and battery temperature.
The car is estimated to be sold under RM100k price when it went on sale on the market later. Proton model Iriz this EV will be introduced to the local market by the end of 2016 or early 2017.
