Renault to preview future styling in Paris

In 2010, Renault design boss Laurens van den Acker, only recently poached from the top spot at Mazda, revealed his vision for the French brand’s next-generation styling.

That concept, the DeZir, went on to inform the look of everything from the compact Euro-market Zoe through to the big Master van. The most recent models to wear the company’s family face include the new-generation Megane, the mid-sized Talisman and the new Kadjar SUV, among others.

Now, according to industry journal Automotive News, van den Acker has confirmed that another new sports concept will appear at October’s Paris motor show, once again previewing the next step for Renault’s brand-wide styling language.

The new concept is expected to build on what the Dutch designer has called a “stages of life” philosophy, which has previously focussed on exploration and family.

This time, van den Acker says the focus is love. An obvious go-to, for a sports concept.
