Scary IndyCar Crash
It all happened during the Houston Grand Prix 2013, when four-time champion Dario Franchitti hit another car right into a corner and was thrown into the fence. Due to its high speed, the vehicle almost disintegrated at impact, injuring 13 spectators and an IndyCar Series representative.
Things got a lot worse for the Scottish driver, who suffered two broken vertebrae, a fractured ankle and a concussion. Fortunately enough, Franchitti's condition is stable and he already had ankle surgery at the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
